Thus preserving your DCP's availability for other problems. Other option, for future consideration is to position the hull differently, so as to use the island as a shield. If you had cleared the ping at the right moment, some manuvering would have allowed you to avoid some or all of the incoming torpedoes and the DCP would still have been running and prevented re-acquisition of your hull by the homing torpedoes. it seems to me that the only viable approach now is to just ignore the pings on your ship and save your Damage Control for something useful.Ĭlearing the pings with Damage Control Party was a good idea, but your timing was a bit off. I tried to find something in the patch notes to tell me what the cooldown is for the sub's sonar. The damage was fairly minimal, and the Salem's zombie heal is my best friend.Īt least, that's how it seemed to me. I'd wasted a DC, was stuck with it on cooldown, and ate three torps because of the fact that pinging apparently has virtually no cooldown to speak of. I spotted them and used Damage Control to clear off the pings.īEFORE the torps reached me the sub had managed to ping me again twice. I fired up my acoustic search so as to be aware of the torps which I was sure were coming. I couldn't maneuver much at that point as to do so would have exposed my broadside to a BB which was turning it's guns towards me. I know that based on the fact that it's pings were coming straight at me. I've just had a match where I was steaming towards a bot submarine. I'm still extremely unimpressed that we're supposed to use a time limited resource like Damage Control to deal with being pinged.īut I'm even more unimpressed by the way the bots are USING the ping. I like the way the ping shows up so we can see quite easily where it's coming from. I'll be honest up front and say that I'm not keen on subs.
